Today, Columbine has been on my mind. 10-years ago...hard to believe that much time has
passed since that fateful day. I was a news reporter at the time, watched it unfold, did stories, sweated my butt off, and felt the humanity with the rest of everyone else. I think it's still possible for something like that to happen, but hopefully, it's more difficult. Springfield schools I think are better prepared...but it's because of the hard work of the teachers, and not that of the bumbling School Board, that children can feel a little safer. But it wasn't so long ago...you carried a pocket knife to school, and there were tons of guns in the trucks of boys, especially during hunting season. No one thought a thing about it. What changed? Why? Life will never be the same, but sometimes I wish it was as simple as it used to be.

I should note that one of my fav DJ's from up here in St. Louis is now working down in Springfield for the KSGF/KTTS cluster. He has a fairly decent blog that you might want to check out.
