A Shot In the Arm is Always Good

Thanks to "Max" for letting me know that when a tree falls in the forest, somehow, someone usually hears it. His response to my post last night, was one more response than I thought I would get...and oh yeah, it was the ONLY one! LOL It's nice to know that someone out there somewhere wants to know what's going on with the ol' gray matter upstairs.

Today, Columbine has been on my mind. 10-years ago...hard to believe that much time has
passed since that fateful day. I was a news reporter at the time, watched it unfold, did stories, sweated my butt off, and felt the humanity with the rest of everyone else. I think it's still possible for something like that to happen, but hopefully, it's more difficult. Springfield schools I think are better prepared...but it's because of the hard work of the teachers, and not that of the bumbling School Board, that children can feel a little safer.

But it wasn't so long ago...you carried a pocket knife to school, and there were tons of guns in the trucks of boys, especially during hunting season. No one thought a thing about it. What changed? Why? Life will never be the same, but sometimes I wish it was as simple as it used to be.

I should note that one of my fav DJ's from up here in St. Louis is now working down in Springfield for the KSGF/KTTS cluster. He has a fairly decent blog that you might want to check out.
